Septic tanks

Septic  Tanks

I apologise if you are just sitting down to your 'wheataflakes' and come across this topic, but for anyone who has a septic tank drainage system, reading this could save you a large fine.

The Environment Agency has a new regulation, which basically states that anyone who has a septic tank must register with them.  The vast majority of private septic tanks will be fine and the good news is that registration is free and can be done fairly easily online – go to the Environment Agency website; but be warned, you need to register before
1 January 2012.  If not, 'any discharge from an unregistered system will be treated as a case of illegal pollution which is itself a serious offence that could result in a fine of up to £20,000’.

Firscroft, Onibury

Andrew in the Ludlow Office mentioned to me the other day that he has a fantastic smallholding on the market in Onibury with 5 acres, stunning views, and a good range of buildings.  Firscroft is a beautifully presented character residence, which has just been reduced by £45,000 to just under £400,000.  Well worth a look.
