Good and Bad News

An interesting and perhaps gloomy prediction I noted in the Sunday Telegraph over the weekend was a report from an expert at Coutts Bank (The Queen’s Bank) predicting that house prices would fall by 11%.   The article did make comment about the report from Coutts saying that there are two types of experts when it comes to property; ‘Those who don’t know and those who don’t know they didn’t know’!

The good news, however, is that a report by Lloyds TSB was more upbeat.  It found that home owners in England in 32 areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (which includes a large part of South Shropshire) have not only enjoyed the benefits of living in some of the finest countryside but have also enjoyed house price increases much greater than the average for the rest of Britain in the past decade.

Therefore, make what you will, but for me living in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK does have a huge benefit.
