LAST DAYS OF SUMMER
The market in August was fairly typical with a reasonable amount of sales and new instructions but nothing like the activity in the previous month. September and October can be very good sales periods with children back at school and holidays over, giving more time for house viewing.
We have had some nice new instructions including Affcot Hall Cottage. The owners have done a wonderful job restoring and extending the property to provide 4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, beautiful Kitchen plus 3 Reception Rooms with walled Garden and Outbuildings plus approx 2.5 acres of land. Offers in the Region of £650,000. Further details online www.samuelwood.co.uk.

Readers of old will remember that I have been known to enter a cake in the local show held on August Bank Holiday Monday (this was as a result of my wife triumphing with her dog against mine - so a challenge was set in the cake making class).
I am delighted to report no 'soggy bottoms' this year and achieved first prize with my Moist Coconut Cake and was also judged Best Cake in Show by the Mary Berrys and Paul Hollywoods of the Clun Valley!!
Perhaps I should offer a cake with every new instruction!
